Robert Lewandowski was among the Barcelona players to be unveiled with a special edition jersey for Sunday’s El Clasico on May 11.

Barcelona reportedly started selling shirts bearing Scott’s logo from 9am local time on Friday. And managed to rake in €1.5m in an hour. There are four designs available – two for men and two for women. With one being a limited edition of 1,899 pieces priced at €399.99 and another signed by the player worth €2,999.99.

Within 30 minutes, all sizes of the shirt were sold out. Especially the limited-edition version of 1,899 pieces priced at €399.99, which generated a whopping €1,519,162.02.

The special edition signed by the players, limited to 11 for men and 11 for women. Priced at €2,999.99, has raised a further €65,999.78, bringing the latest jersey to €1,585,161.80 in just one hour.

Lewandowski joins Barcelona in the midst of a financial crisis yet although the club have racked up debts of almost one billion euros, the striker becomes the club’s fourth summer transfer after the signings of Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie from AC Milan, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer, and Brazil winger Raphinha.
